Swinford GAA 50/50 draw

The club 50/50 draw was held in Horkans Shop and Thomas Grufferty won €241.

Envelopes are available in business premises in town and online through www.swinfordgaa.ie where tickets can be purchased in bundles of 10/25/52 weeks or from club officers. 

The next draw will be in Gateway Hotel on 7th July.

Draw envelopes available for €2 each or 3 for €5.

The club will like to thank everyone for their support. 

Safe Return to Gaelic Games

The club executive have met and discussed the document issued from Croke Park on the 5th June – Safe Return to Gaelic Games.

The document is available on our website and I would encourage all members to read it.

Each team will have a designated Covid Officer. Club grounds will reopen on June 29th for non-contact training. All players parents/guardians and team personnel must complete a certified e-learning module on gaa.ie.

This will take approx 30 minutes and is mandatory for participation in club activities. The link is available on our social media pages and on our website. Before initial training recommences all players will have to complete a health questionnaire including temperature reading.

The club would like to thank all who helped out with our meal delivery service over the last few months. During these unprecedented times the GAA showed its connection with its local community. Thanks also to the Department for Rural and Community Development and Mayo County Council. Any funds that we have left over from our grant will be given to the local Meals on Wheels.

Steps to safe return to games

The club are finalising steps to reopen club facilities and to ensure a safe atmosphere for our teams to return to training.

All players, coaches, mentors, parents/guardians should complete the Covid 19 Club Education E-learning module at

https://courses.gaa.ie/Covid19ClubEd/#

At the end of the module you must print the certificate of completion and bring to the first training session.

A health questionaire will be available online and in hard copy and same must be completed prior to the first training session. At subsequent sessions each player or parent/guardian must sign a declaration confirming no change in health.

Each team will have a Covid Supervisor in charge of ensuring that all guidelines are followed out prior to and after each training session.

We would ask all members to engage with their coaches and managers and with club officers as we ensure of a safe environment to return to play.

The club 50/50 draw was held in Eurospar Swinford and Julie Dee c/o Ray Lambe, Main Street won €263. Envelopes are available in business premises in town and online through www.swinfordgaa.ie where tickets can be purchased in bundles of 10/25/52 weeks or from club officers. The next draw will be in Moores Supermarket on 23rd June. Draw envelopes available for €2 each or 3 for €5.The club will like to thank everyone for their support.

It is anticipated that club games will recommence with the Senior Leagues on the weekend of the 31st July with Intermediate Championship the following weekend.
