Michael Walsh Intermediate Cup

The draw has been made for this years Michael Walsh Intermediate Cup:

We have been drawn in Group 2 with Westport St. Patrick’s, Parke and Castlebar Mitchels. There is one home game on Sunday 22nd February against Westport followed by two away games against Parke and Castlebar Mitchels on the 1st March and 8th March.

The top two teams will qualify for the quarter final on the 22nd March. Semi finals will be played Sunday 29th March and the final will be played on Saturday 4th April.

Swinford GAA Club in conjunction with GAA at national level is selling €10 tickets for the GAA National Club Draw. There are a number of great prizes up for grabs including oversea trips to watch the 2015 All Stars . All proceeds will be retained by Swinford GAA Club and used during the year for Club development. Tickets are available from players and officers of the Club. Club membership for 2015 is also now open.

Congratulations to Mark Forkan on making the Mayo U21 team currently taking part in the Hastings Cup and Stephen Henry on making the Sligo IT team in the FBD League.

Swinford Cultural Centre is happy to announce a great pairing for Friday 13th February, featuring two of the finest musicians to come from Leitrim over the past forty years Eleanor Shanley and Charlie McGettigan.
Eleanor Shanley has played with De Danann and with some of Irelands greatest musicians Ronnie Drew and Christy Moore and has a very impressive collection of music in her own right.
Charlie McGettigan, a Donegal man but residing in Leitrim for some time is a Eurovision winner with “Rock ‘n’ Roll Kids”. He has written songs that have been recorded by every major Irish artist of the last 40 years.
It promises to be a very entertaining night of music with doors open at 7 and the concert beginning at 8. Tickets are available at €15 from The Gateway Hotel, Swinford.
