Christmas Greetings

Swinford GAA club wishes all its members, players, managers, coaches and supporters a very Happy Christmas and Prosperous New Year.

Swinford GAA 50/50 draw

The club 50/50 draw was held in Sheepwalk and Shane McDonagh won €383. 

Envelopes are available in business premises in town and online through www.swinfordgaa.ie. The next draw will be in Melletts on the 27th December. 

The club would like to thank everyone for their support. 

St Stephens Day Charity Game

The Club is glad to announce the return of the annual St Stephens Day game for 2022. This year the games will start at 10am on Robert McCallion. 

Many thanks to our team sponsors Melletts Emporium, The Whitehouse, Sheepwalk Bar, Julians of Midfield. 

This year the proceeds raised from the game will go to The Butterfly Garden.

All support is welcome

Swinford GAA 50/50 draw

The club 50/50 draw was held in Melletts and David Clarke from Claremorris won €455. The winning ticket was bought in Melletts on Saturday night. 

Envelopes are available in business premises in town and online through www.swinfordgaa.ie. The next draw will be in Moores on the 29th November. 

The club would like to thank everyone for their support. 

Swinford GAA Annual General Meeting

The club AGM was held in the Melletts on the  20th November. The Chairman Ray Gilmore invited everyone to the meeting and a minutes silence was held for all club members who lost a loved one during the year. The secretary Katie Kelly read the minutes of the last AGM and gave her report on the year. The treasurer Douglas Kelly then gave the financial report for the year and the chairman of Bord na nOg Vincent Roughneen gave his report on the underage teams for 2022. The chairman then gave his report on 2022.The chairman thanked Katie Kelly for her nine years as club secretary. 

A very good discussion was then held on the future direction of the club

The election of officers was held and Ray Gilmore was returned as Chairman, Douglas Kelly as Treasurer and Gearoid Brady as PRO and a number of members were elected to the Club Executive. There is a vacancy for club secretary and for other positions on the club executive. 

Nominations for the outstanding positions should be e-mailed to the club secretary e-mail account secretary.swinford.mayo@gaa.ie by Friday 25th November. The club executive will meet to discuss the outstanding positions. 

SWINFORD GAA WEEKLY NEWS NOVEMBER 16TH

Club Annual General Meeting

The AGM of the club will be held this coming Sunday 20th November at 6.30pm upstairs in Melletts Emporium.

Members are invited to submit their nominations for the positions of Chairman, Secretary, Treasurer, PRO, Children’s Welfare Officer, Registrar, County Board Representative, Executive Committee.

Nominations and motions to reach the Club Secretary by this Friday 18th November at 6pm
