50/50 Draw

This weeks draw was held in Horkans and Yvonne, Aidan, Amy & Danielle Brennan of Dun na Ri, Swinfordwon €647.
Envelopes are available in most business premises and online through www.swinfordgaa.ie where tickets can be purchased in bundles of 10/25/52 weeks. Next draw is in Bolands on the 14th February. Draw envelopes are available at 3 for €5.

Minor Challenge Game

Mayo minors will play Dublin minors in a challenge game next Saturday (11th) at 12-30pm at Robert McCallion Memorial Park.

Fixtures:

The Michael Walsh leagues will start the weekend 18th Feb with the County leagues starting weekend 8th April.
The draws for the Senior, Intermediate & Junior championships take place Wednesday 8th February in Elverys Sports MacHale Park at 8pm.

Sean McDermotts GAA Birmingham

We are happy to announce that the Under 14 and Under 16 teams from Sean McDermotts Club in Birmingham will be coming to Swinford on the weekend of 31st March/2nd April. This is part of the celebrations of the 60th anniversary of Sean McDermotts GAA. On Saturday 1st April we will be hosting a Under 14 tournament between Swinford, Sean McDermotts, Ballyhaunis and Parke Kilcommin. Following this the Swinford Under 16 team will play Sean McDermotts Under 16’s.

Membership

Club membership is now open. Non playing membership is €20, Adult Player €60, Student Player €50. Please contact a club official.

GAA National Club Draw 2017

The GAA through Croke Park have launched the 2017 GAA National Club Draw with great prizes ranging from an Opel Corsa Car to All Ireland packages with 14 prizes in total. Tickets at €10 are available from club officers.

Club Meeting

There is a club meeting on Saturday 21st January at 6pm in Gateway Hotel. Nominations for club eecutive to be with club secretary no later than 5pm Wednesday 18th January. Nomination form can be obtained from the club secretary or downloaded from our website.

Swinford Killasser Ladies GAA Club

The ladies club are hosting facebook sensation Rory’s Stories in the Gateway Hotel on 3rd December 8pm. Tickets are €10 and are available in the Gateway Hotel, Melletts, club members and on the door on the night.

Lightning strikes twice……Congrats to Karen Murray of Rathunas, Swinford on winning the Swinford GAA 50/50 draw for the second week in a row. The draw was held in Moores Bar and multiple winner Tommy Dyna Feeney pulled out Karen’s envelope. Karen wins €560 this week. Draw envelope sold in Carmels Cafe, Market Street.

Pitch Work

There is currently work been carried out on the perimeter of Robert McCallion Memorial Pitch to safeguard the banks of the ground. Thanks to the golf club for their assistance. This work is badly needed to safeguard the ground for the future. The cost of the job will cut deeply into our bank balance but it will be money well spent.
