Match Report – U14 League Division 2 – Kiltimagh vs Swinford – 19th April

In a game full of goals, Swinford came out on the right side of this encounter winning in the end by five points.

Swinford started the game at a ferocious pace and continued this through to the twentieth minute where in this period they scored three goals. Swinford could not however maintain their dominance and Kiltimagh returned with three goals themselves in quick succession leaving the half time score 3-03 to 3-02 in favour of the visiting team.

After the break Swinford were first to score with a point from long distance and continued to rack up the scores. For the supporters the rivalry between the two teams made a very entertaining game and the referee had his hands full with some passionate challenges coming in from both sets of players.

Going into the final ten minutes Kiltimagh trailed by just three points and threatened for a goal but Swinford held their nerve and won out by five points.

They now look forward to their second league game in another local derby versus Moy Davitts this Thursday evening.
