Annual General Meeting

The AGM of Swinford Club was held on Sunday 18th in Gateway Hotel. Message of sympathy was given to all club members who lost a loved one during the year.

There was a decent turnout to look back atΒ  the year. Reports were given by the club secretary Katie Kelly and club treasurer Deirdre Dunleavy. There was a defict in the club accounts due to the high cost of the works done on pitch renovation at the vocational school. The weekly 50/50 draw is the backbone of the clubs finances and other avenues of fundraising are needed.

Shane Campbell gave the Chairmans address. Thanks was given to all who help out in the club from the club officers to all the coaches from Under 6 to senior level. There are great numbers at underage levels upto Under 16 and the Cul Camp was very well attended. The commitment of the coaches and players throughout the club has been excellent. Thanks were given to our Intermediate managment of Tom Byrne, Billy McNicholas, John Dunne and Aisling Mulholland. We were the only team in the county to go through the league season with 100% record. Thanks was given to Peter Geraghty for his work on the 50/50 draw every week. Thanks also to Jimmy McDonagh, Paul McDonnell for all their work on the pitch. Thanks also to al our sponsors Duffy tyres and Eoghan O’Connell and all who support the club during the year.

Shane Campbell then indicated that he was stepping down as Chairman after five years and thanked all his fellow officers for all the work and commitment to the club.

Katie Kelly thanked Shane for all his work over the past five years.

The meeting then moved to election of officers. There was one nomination in for Chairman and Raymond Gilmore was elected to the position. All remaining club officers and executive were relected and this was agreed to by the meeting.
