SWINFORD GAA RESULTS WEEK 18TH APRIL 2022. WEEKLY REVIEW

The week started off on Monday evening when our U12 crew composed of two teams visited Foxford for two very competitive games. We came away with a win for the Group 1 team whilst the Group 3 team went down fighting.

The U14s & U16s both came up against strong opposition midweek and they both came out the wrong end in two competitive games but the progress in each squad is clear to see as we approach the summer and the new age grades.

Finally there was a good win in the Michael Walsh Junior Cup Quarter Final against a gutsy Moygownagh on Saturday evening. It was definitely a case of players taking their chances to impress in the absence of a number of the squad and take their chance they did. Shout outs to Ryan Lavin, Jonathan Giblin, Nathan McNicholas, Callum Cairns, Peter Noone and Michael Daly who made their competitive debuts for the team. Leading the way on the scoring was Liam Moran (1-05), Luke McNicholas (1-03), Callum Cairns 2pts with Jason McLoughlin, Barry Brennan, Mark Forkan, Nathan McNicholas and Jack Ferguson chipping in with a point each. A semi final now lies ahead.
