50/50 Draw

This weeks draw for Swinford GAA 50/50 draw was held in Mellettson 18th August and  Liam Kerrigan of Esker, Swinford won €805. Envelopes are available in most business premises and online through www.swinfordgaa.ie where tickets can be purchased in bundles of 10/25/52 weeks. Next draw in Gateway Hotel on 25th August. Draw envelopes are now also available at 3 for €5.

Thanks to everyone for the support. The draw is a year old and in that time over €50,000 has been given out in prize money and donations have been made to local schools. Now of this could be done without the support of the Swinford community at home and away, thank you all.
The proceeds have enabled the club to upgrade the playing surface of Robert McCallion Memorial Park and invest in gym equipment. All our trainers and juvenile players have been decked out in the clubs colours.
The club is currently developing plans for improvements to our facilities especially for training for all levels of the club.

We enjoyed a very good win at home to Bohola Moy Davitts on Wednesday 12th on a scoreline of Swinford 2-9 Bohola Moy Davitts 1-6.

Minor B Championship
Very impressive win on Friday evening by our minors on a score of Swinford 6-13 Ballintubber 1-8. It took a few minutes for us to get going but once we did there was no stopping us. Swinford scorers: James Devaney 4-4, David Brady 1-2, Shane Fallon 1-1, Johnny Burke 0-3, Shane McDonnell, Ryan Convey, Gary Keane 0-1 each.We play Kiltimagh on Friday evening at 7pm at Robert McCallion Memorial Park where a win will see us through to the next stage.

Senior League Division 1C

A very disappointing 60minutes against Castlebar Mitchels on Sunday lunchtime going down to a heavy defeat on a scoreline of Swinford 1-6 Castlebar Mitchels 3-16. We were welll in the game at the break being only 4points down and playing with the wind for the second half but we never got going and Mitchels won the game with ease.

Senior League Division 1E
A much better game in the second half of a Super GAA Sunday in Swinford inwhat was a tight good battle between Swinford and Claremorris with Swinford winning by 3 points on a scoreline of Swinford 2-12 Claremorris 3-6. We led by the minimum of a point at the break but some fine points in the second half secured the 2 points. Swinford  scorers: Jason McLoughlin 1-1,Paddy Ward 0-4, Darren Campbell 0-3, James Sweeney, Barry Brennan, Ryan Convey, Aiden McLoughlin 0-1 each.

Vodafone Swinford
Swinford GAA have entered into an arrangement with the Vodafone shop on Market Street where you will earn points on certain transactions which will turn into sponsorship for the club when we reach 700 points. When you are shopping within the store please mention Swinford GAA when you are paying.
