Match Preview – Mayo Senior League Division 1B – Swinford Vs Islandeady

Swinford’s Senior team will be trying to continue their good start in Division 1B of the Mayo Senior League against Islandeady on Friday evening.

The game has been switched to Friday evening to accommodate the Mayo Junior game against Galway on Sunday afternoon. Niall McCormack, Ollie Feeney, Cormac Gordon and Peter Collins from Islandeady and Colin Dempsey, Conor Campbell, Joe Kelly and Jack McDonnell from Swinford have all been selected on a strong Mayo squad.

There will be no easy games in Division 1B and Swinford will have to play extremely well to maintain their unbeaten start. Islandeady have had a tough start, losing marginally away to a strong Hollymount-Carramore team and drawing at home against an equally strong Kiltane team. Islandeady will be looking to Swinford as a must-win game a week before their opening championship game away to Cill Chomain.

The senior management of Paul Cunney and his selectors, Brian Galvin, Adrian Forkan and Paddy Cunney will be looking again for big performances from Barry McShea, Joe Kelly and Colin Dempsey in what will be another tough challenge for the Swinford men.

Please try to get out to support your local team. All support will be greatly appreciated.
